Literacy

Why do we read? We explored this question and decided that we read for meaning; to learn, to expand our vocabulary, for enjoyment and to gain information. The children examined non-fiction books, selected one to read and then set about reading their book to find an interesting fact. After pairing to share this information, the children wrote about it and finally presented their report to the class.
